Synopsis[]
Kuzco faces his first major challenge at Kuzco Academy: a cross-country race against the physically superior Kronk. His attempts to dodge it but skip it, but Coach Sweetie declares that losing means failing P.E. and losing his throne. Meanwhile, Yzma plots against him, but Kronk’s blunder turns Kuzco into a rabbit instead. Just as all hope seems lost, Kuzco realizes his new form gives him incredible speed, turning the race into a battle of wits, speed, and survival.
Plot[]
Kuzco, narrating, introduces himself and his predicament—he’s been turned into a rabbit. Rewinding, he recalls Coach Sweetie announcing the cross-country race. Kuzco’s excuses fail, and he learns losing means failing P.E. and losing his throne as being Emperor. He panics, realizing he must beat the ultra-fit Kronk. Attempts at last-minute training, encouraged by Pacha, prove grueling but slightly improve his stamina.
Meanwhile, Yzma, disguised as Principal Amzy, orders Kronk to ensure Kuzco loses. Fearing Kuzco’s progress, she hatches a plan to transform him into a turtle. However, Kronk mistakenly grabs a rabbit potion instead. At lunch, he secretly doses Kuzco’s food, unwittingly turning him into a rabbit. Initially horrified, Kuzco despairs—until Malina points out his newfound speed.
On race day, Yzma smugly expects Kuzco to fail. Kronk powers ahead, but rabbit-Kuzco dashes past him. Desperate, Yzma sabotages the race with obstacles: a log, a boulder, a crocodile pit—none of which stop Kuzco. In a last-ditch effort, she destroys the final bridge, but Kuzco makes a spectacular leap, ricocheting off obstacles and crossing the finish line in first place.
As the crowd cheers, the Royal Record Keeper confirms Kuzco’s victory. Yzma fumes at Kronk, who sheepishly admits his mistake. Kuzco, back in human form, narrates how Kronk apologized with spinach puffs—only for Kuzco to prank Yzma with "rabbit puffs." Disgusted, she screams his name in frustration as the episode ends with Kuzco celebrating, Malina rolling her eyes, and Kronk inviting everyone—including the crocodile—to hang out.
Trivia[]
- This is the first time Kronk rides Yzma's Secret Lab coaster.
- This is the first time Yzma is dressed up as Principal Amzy.
- When Kuzco is working out, among the things he does is lift the kids by tugging ropes. The shot itself is practically reminiscent to a scene in The Incredibles where Bob Parr is lifting the train cars for exercise.
- The music used in Kuzco's training montage is the House of Mouse background piece "Stay Tuned".
